I was tragically unaware of Moms Mabley until I found a couple of her records for sale at Half Price Books. I bought “Moms Mabley at: “Geneva Conference” (1962) (https://youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_mtaFrzC1W5P-E6MZiPJ05EaEuBtfGSLEw&si=TP-VjMxuuJX1NuMs) and “The Playboy Club” (1961) (https://youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_m1RbQPjJs7LZJadKbGHYW1ToPcp4A43yI&si=KYMRNMXxP35u88Hz) She was an absolute riot!

This week we are watching Amazing Grace (1974)! It is the final film of famous comedienne #MomsMabley, who plays the titular Grace

"Abraham, Martin and John" is a 1968 song written by #DickHoller. It was first recorded by #Dion, in a version that was a substantial North American chart hit in 1968–1969. Near-simultaneous cover versions by #SmokeyRobinsonAndTheMiracles and #MomsMabley also charted in the U.S. in 1969, and a version that same year by #MarvinGaye became the hit version in the UK. It was also a hit as part of a medley (with "#WhatTheWorldNeedsNowIsLove") for #TomClay in 1971.
