If you travel to Okayama, you'll inevitably encounter Momotaro (Peach Boy), as he hangs out, among other places, right near the train station.
Momotaro is a popular hero of Japanese folklore. Momotarō is also the title of various books, films, and other works about this hero.
Basically he is born out of a giant peach, becomes friends with a talking dog, monkey and pheasant and fights evil.
Just passed through the town of Kibitsu, famous for their "kibidango".
Japanese may recall the legend of "Momotaro" (the "peach boy") who became the champion of his village & went on a quest to defeat the Oni (ogres/demons) that pillaged their lands from afar.
On his trip, he traded half of his kibidango to a dog, pheasant, & monkey to solicit their aid in his journey & with their help & skills eventually defeated the Oni.
