We first hear of #mollyhouses in 1700, mostly through #court #transcripts and the #hysterical #articles of #investigative #journalists. In the #18thcentury, the molly house that attracted the most gasping and pearl-clutching was #MotherClap’s #MollyHouse in the #Holborn #borough of #London.
