DirtyOldTownYou may have heard the new sci-fi-rom com Molli and Max in the Future, starring Zosia Mamet and Aristotle Athari is basically a Millennial/Gen Z take on When Harry met Sally.
It is! But it's also loaded with hilarious/uncomfortable satire of our current cultural moment.
For instance, the ruler of the galaxy is determined by game show. The candidates are a very normal human lady and a literal demon named Turboschmuck.
Viewer: He doesn't mean those things he says.
Turboschmuck: I want you to know I mean everything I am saying.
viewer: But he's kidding.
Turboschmuck: I am not kidding.
Viewer: I mean, he's not really going to hurt people.
Turboschmuck: I intend to start killing as many people as I can, right away.
There's also a plague and a pending civilization-destroying natural calamity caused by human malfeasance that everyone knows about AND knows how to fix, but nobody really wants to do it.
ai 🌈 🌺Recently, I finished some TV series I think are worth checking out, on Netflix: #SchoolSpirits, #TheMagicians, and #LockwoodAndCo.
On Prime, I really enjoyed #MolliAndMaxInTheFuture. Fun stuff. I never saw When Harry Met Sally, but something tells me this is way more my speed. 😉 Very creative.
Currently re-watching: #Veep on Max.
