The World Clock in Alexanderplatz. Edmonton and Denver represent! I really liked Alexanderplatz. Not a particularly upscale area, but probably the most vibrant place I saw during my time in Berlin, with lots of people hanging out and doing everyday things.

Arched roof and glass wall of the Alexanderplatz train station. I like the small stone pavers, which seem to be everywhere in Berlin.

Part of the Marie-Elisabeth-Lüders-Haus in Berlin's “Band des Bundes” is the Forum Kunst with this large piece of public art. I liked its warm copper color and its placement next to the stairs and building columns, creating an interesting assemblage of vertical and horizontal lines.

I took this close-up view of the glass curtain wall and grand stairway of the Marie-Elisabeth-Lüders-Haus solely for the lovely composition of geometry and light.

Glass curtain wall of the Marie-Elisabeth-Lüders-Haus reflecting the morning light. Deep shadows and a grand stairway create diagonal lines within the composition while bicyclists on the path next to the river help provide some scale to the scene.

I was quite impressed with the “Band des Bundes” or "Federal Ribbon"—the massive complex of modernist government buildings along the Spree River that symbolically join east and west Berlin. In this view, the Paul-Löbe-Haus is on the left and the Marie-Elisabeth-Lüders-Haus is on the right. Two pedestrian bridges link the buildings.

The Fiat car plant in #Lingoto #Turin used to be during the 1920 one of the most advanced car factory in the world. Tempi pasati. No car has left the building since 1982 though. the most spectacular feature of the factory was the one KM long test track on the roof. Two 400 meter tracks in each side and two 100 meter steep curves. Today the test track is used as an exhibition space for the Agnelli Picture Gallery. #torino #italy #piemonte #modernart #modernistarchitecture #blackandwhite #bw #architecturephotography #architecture #monochrome
Taking this photograph a young man approached and warned me that it was dangerous to take pictures here. People do not like to be photographed here, he said. His explanation went further: too much drugs. Might be that he just wanted to be recognized. Who knows. Actually no one was there besides him and me.
