Well I bought the AirVelocity 1901 that’s been on eBay for months, so assuming it actually works and I can guess the console root password (hopefully one of the ~10 known default ones), maybe I’ll have an n48 gNB for #ModemManager testing…

… so far so good. The mechanical part seemed to have gone well and #ModemManager recognizes a #5G connection. No tests, yet.

I keep posting these until it gets boring: #Cellbroadcast received yesterday on a #OnePlus6t running #Phosh , #cellbroadcastd and #ModemManager . Just showed up, no fiddling, just using distro packages.

Although the project finished some months ago: Thanks to @NGIZero for funding work on this.

There were successful tests of #Cellbroadcast at Bundesweiter #Warntag 2025 on @postmarketOS (https://fosstodon.org/@z3ntu/115184859174052676) (by @z3ntu) and on @mobian (https://ruhr.social/@agx/115184872311438441) (by @agx) on three different 📱models (with and without Qualcomm SoCs) with #Phosh 0.49. 🎉

For things to work out of the box: On Qualcomm SoCs you need at least #ModemManager 1.25.1 , Debian/Mobian waits for cellbroadcastd to enter the archive
