I'm going to decide what to do with a #Tandy (#RadioShack) #TRS80 #ModelIII

6 mths ago my stepdad died. Mum is slowly clearing the house. In a cupboard is his cherished #TRS80 and I need to decide what to do with it. For difficult to explain reasons I have a huge emotional attachment to it (via him). I can't bear to see it be trashed.

I could:
• Find space in a cupboard forever
• Fire her up and explore (last used 30 yrs ago)
• Donate

New RIFA Caps arrived. Time to solder! Should be a few decades till they go up in smoke again. 🫠

Model III WORKING!!! ...after getting it all cleaned-up, socketed chips & connectors adjusted/re-seated with Stabilant 22 applied. Then, subsequently the main RIFA capacitors on both internal power supplies blew - with Spectacular sounds and smoke effects! 😆☹️ Easy fix though. 🍀
