"At CES 2026 in Las Vegas, Singapore-based startup Strutt introduced the EV1, a powered personal mobility device that uses lidar, cameras, and onboard computing for collision avoidance. Unlike manually-steered powered wheelchairs, the EV1 assists with navigation in both indoor and outdoor environments—stopping or rerouting itself before a collision can occur."

There is literal #garbage riding the #TTC with me today. A pile of full TTC-branded trash bags, blocking the #accessibility space where a #wheelchair or #scooter or other #MobilityDevice would park. On a crowded, standing-room-only #511Bathurst #streetcar. Every time you think they can't surprise you with some new thing they're doing wrong... #Toronto #TransitHell
Been wanting to post this for a bit, but haven’t had the energy. Jansport is making adaptive backpacks right now (unfortunately only available on their site to US and EU customers rn). This is super exciting! Since I’m in Canada, I may end up ordering mine for my walker from Amazon.ca, but I don’t think it will have a warrantee like it would from their site unfortunately. #AdaptiveBag #Walker #Rollator #Wheelchair #MobilityDevice #BackPack

This is my "scwalker" (scooter/walker). I used a walker for years, then when it was no longer useful to me, I didn't want a wheelchair but needed something so that I could still get out and about. (At home I can hobble around somewhat, hanging on to things as I pass; on a really good day I can shuffle maybe 50' but am bent over by the time I get there.) After much research into my options, this is what I ended up with. It is now my legs. After nearly 4 years I feel almost helpless without it; when I'm using it, it feels like a part of me - a happy part! I got it because of my spine, but in the intervening years I have lost much mobility in my right leg as well. I sit on here with my right leg propped up in front and do my best cephalopod imitation, propelling myself with my left foot. I can go pretty fast too! And it feels totally natural to me. People always ask why I don't have a motorized device. Well, I couldn't lift a motor and battery. This is just over 20# and I've learned to maneuver it into the back of our Suburbans and now, Escalade. Unfortunately I'm now losing some function in my left leg as well; however I will continue to use my beloved scwalker for as long as I possibly can!
