Buffalo Bayou East releases new renderings, update on 10-year project

The Buffalo Bayou East community development plan, a $310 million initiative launched in 2019 and accelerated by a $100 million Kinder Foundation donation in 2022, remains on schedule with two completed projects — a natural park and a mixed-income apartment complex — and several others underway.

What's the problem with talking about #MissingMiddleHousing, #MixedIncomeHousing, #MixedUseHousing, and #Parking mandates, but not talking about #PublicHousing #UniversalHousing and #StructuralChange? You may not know that MOST working class people won't be able to afford the apartments you are advocating for. You may have been told that more supply of apartments will lead to lower rents, BUT ITS NOT TRUE! The only thing that will end homelessness is a robust investment in real Public Housing!

I like that the term Middle Housing has gained momentum because it helps me clearly see who is a "#YIMBY for me but not for thee" type. If you only ever talk about #MissingMiddleHousing, #MixedIncomeHousing, #MixedUseHousing, and #Parking mandates, but you never talk about #PublicHousing #UniversalHousing and #StructuralChange, your housing advocacy is incomplete.

If you don't know what I mean, that's ok. If you know what I mean but don't change then your an ass.
