Naomi Rintoul-Hynes is looking to supervise a #funded #PhD on the #ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS OF #ARMED CONFLICT.
This PhD would be based at #Canterbury Christ Church University in #Kent, #UK. The scholarship includes a full fee waiver for 3 years and annual stipend of £20,780.

Are there any good JP non-katakana words to explain mixed heritage?
I know "konketsu" is a thing, but I've never heard it used in a positive way.
But then, there are older folks who don't understand the loanword uses of "mix(ed)" and "roots," so it makes me wonder if there aren't any good words for conversations with them 🤔
It continues to be extremely disheartening that my inexplicable American accent Others me back home (it's only gotten more distinct since moving to the States, which I guess was to be expected, but that doesn't explain the first 27ish years of my life).
It's going to be worse when I get to Malaysia. Always was. Part of why I left was because I just couldn't be perceived as Malaysian by other Malaysians (unless they were also mixed)...
