Hello all! Hope all are doing well. Today was a study in when not to go to the fair for my partner and I. We made it through two rides, I passed out after the second, but it was fun while it lasted. Four takeaways:
1. do *NOT* try to do something like that during high heat indexes. By the time we finished ride 2, I was barely functioning.
2. Do *NOT* try to ride the Zipper with anything that could remotely pop out of your pocket, because believe me, even if you think it'll stay in there, chances are it won't. I suddenly discovered what turned out to be a water bottle flying around that had popped out of my pocket, and had to chase the thing around the car and into submission.
3. On the upside, would totally do the Zipper again, just without the rogue bottle, and in better weather.
4. If you live in the #QuadCities and go to the #MississippiValleyFair, there's an excellent roasted nut vendor that does a lot of cool variations. I highly recommend Holy Roasters, and you can't miss 'em--they play their name throughout an ad that they play over some big speakers. Needless to say I loved their nuts and their ad, and I'm not usually a nut person.
We might try going on Friday, when it's supposed to be a much more decent temperature. For tonight, I am just gonna seriously take it slow and not move much. LOL
