Petra Matina Mataiti, 24, will represent the Cook Islands in the 37th edition of Miss Pacific Islands. She was the winner of Miss Maine Purotu Cook Islands of Victoria 2025.

Mataiti is an aviation worker who comes from a large family. She was born and raised on the island of Aitutaki, Cook Islands.

Currently, Mataiti is based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The Aitutaki native works at the Melbourne Airport, the second busiest airport in Oceania after Sydney Airport in Mascot, New South Wales, Australia.

Miss Maine Purotu Cook Islands of Victoria 2025

On July 26, 2025, the Miss Maine Purotu Cook Islands of Victoria 2025 coronation ceremony was held at the Palmyra Reception in Dandenong, Victoria. Maine Kuki Airani Aotearoa 2024 Ngatepaeru Marie Maoate graced the event as a special guest.

Five candidates competed for the title. At the end of the ceremony, Mataiti was crowned as the winner.

Runner-up to Mataiti is Lydia Topa, 21, of Mitiaro. Bonnie Teremoana Autupuna, 19, of Rarotonga is the second runner-up while Tura Tumatangi, 17, of Manihiki and Justice Matakino, 18, Mangaia are the respective third and fourth runners-up.

Miss Pacific Islands 2026

On February 14, 2026, Mataiti will represent the Cook Islands at Miss Pacific Islands 2026 at the Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa on Denarau Island, Nadi, Fiji. t is the 37th edition of the regional beauty pageant held in the Pacific Islands.

Including Mataiti, seven women will compete for the title.     On February 3, 2024, Nicholas will crown her successor at the Sports Complex in Yaren, Nauru. It is the 35th edition of the international beauty pageant in the group of islands in the Pacific Ocean.

    Fonoifafo McFarland-Seumanu crowns Miss Pacific Islands 2023 Josie Nicholas in Apia

    Fonoifafo Nancy McFarland-Seumanu of Samoa won Miss Pacific Islands 2019 at The Stanley Hotel and Suites in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea on November 30, 2019. She held the title from 2020 to 2022 amid the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

    On February 3, 2023, McFarland-Seumanu crowned her successor Josie Nicholas of Papua New Guinea at Gym 1 in Tuanaimato, Apia, Samoa. Five candidates competed for the title.

    In 2014, the beauty pageant was renamed Miss Pacific Islands and was won by Alofa Dawn Latafale Auva’a of Samoa. It was won by Abigail Havora of Papua New Guinea in 2015, Anne Christine Dunn of Fiji in 2016, Matauaina To’omalatai of American Samoa in 2017 and Leoshina Mercy Kariha of Papua New Guinea in 2018.
