A picture of the almost full moon yesterday, with a little suprise that I didn't see until looking at the photos on the computer today.
John Gordon 📷They’re certainly not going to win any awards, but for handheld at 800mm with only IBIS to help (it doesn’t help much), I’m happy with these as the first shots from the crazy mirror lens. (Check out the donut bokeh!}
The cons, aside from not really being suitable for handheld use: it’s hard to focus (very shallow depth of field) & a little soft even when in focus.

Filmic FelixSome evening bird photos I took yesterday. I believe one to be a Gold-Crowned Sparrow. The smallest perhaps a Bushtit? Also a Robin for good measure. Mostly did colour photos but also took a couple black and white because I liked the contrast and vibe it gave.
Camera used is E-M1 Mark II with Rokinon 300mm F6.3 Reflex/Mirror lens and Canon FD 135mm F2.5 (cropped in camera for a couple due to the decreased focal length).

Taken at the quarry yesterday. Quite happy with how some of them turned out. I really enjoy some of the textures present in the industrial environment when taken in black and white even with simple things like railings and gravel.

Early morning shots from the other day. Saw a light frost on some Purple Dead Nettle (Lamium Purpureum) and Shepherd's Purse/Lady's Purse (Capsella Bursa-Pastoris). Took a couple shots of the grass too. The mirror lens bokeh works really well with that sort of subject. I'll include a couple colour photos at the end for fun.

Some rain photos I took at work on the pavement yesterday. Feel free to scroll thru and let me know your favourite. It was sunny when I left for work so I chose my lens accordingly. Started pouring half way into the day. The lens I chose was a Rokinon 300mm F6.3 Reflex/Mirror lens. Hard to get a sharp focus but it still has neat characteristics. SUPER shallow depth of field. Ended up being the perfect lens for the day afterall.
