A few photos from the December 20 Bonfire Paddle with the #HollyburnSailingClub.

We put lights on our boats and paddle or row from #AmblesideBeach to the festival at Dundarave in #WestVancouver.

My #MirrorDinghy was the only rowboat this year. We got very lucky and the rain held off for the event.

Saturday, the #HollyburnSailingClub did a group sail over to #JerichoBeach from #WestVancouver. It was our third organized group crossing to Jericho this season.

Not much wind to start, but it filled in later. I sailed my #MirrorDinghy across, and did a bit of rowing before the wind came.

Salmon are still jumping in #EnglishBay.

On Saturday I sailed my #MirrorDinghy from #AmblesideBeach to #FalseCreek, across #EnglishBay. This is the first time I sailed to False Creek.

After stopping at Teatotaler Beach, near the Maritime Museum, I took down my sail and rowed to the east side of Granville Island.

The row out of False Creek against the wind and tide was strenuous, but once I got back to Teatotaler Beach I put the sail back up and sailed home.

Conditions were a bit choppy with some whitecaps.

The #HollyburnSailingClub had a Wooden Boat Show / Open House at #AmblesideBeach yesterday. This coincided with the #HarmonyArtsFestival.

There were wooden boats, model boat building for kids, live music, and free hot dogs.

I displayed my wooden #MirrorDinghy.

I led a group sailing trip yesterday with the #HollyburnSailingClub. We just sailed from #AmblesideBeach and west a bit past Dundarave.

It has been a cold and wet start to the sailing season this year.

On the way back I saw a group of #porpoise just south of Dundarave. I saw them 3 times last year while sailing and saw them much less in past years. I don't know if I have been getting lucky, or if the population has been increasing around Vancouver.

Did some early season sailing yesterday, launching my #MirrorDinghy from the #HollyburnSailingClub in #WestVancouver.

Landed at a "private" beach in West Bay for a few minutes.

Two other sail boats were out at the same time, but the start of the sailing season is usually another month from now when it is warmer.

New Years Day #sailing race, last week, at the #HollyburnSailingClub. Not much wind, but we had fun getting on the water together.

Boats on the water were: #MirrorDinghy, Mirror 16, RS 400, RS Vision, RS Zest, 420, Laser, and an Opti.

I was part of another day #sail to West Bay #WestVancouver with the #HollyburnSailingClub on Saturday.

Light wind, but we had a nice sail. So far we have stopped at West Bay 3 times this year. It is only 5km away, so suitable for short trips in light wind.

We were nice to the beached boats and carried them back to the water. I anchored my #MirrorDinghy.

Great sailing out of Brancaster Staithe, North Norfolk. A narrow-ish creek full of moorings makes for tricky access to a really beautiful sea lagoon. This was the first time out for us in Nancy, our new old mirror dinghy. The centre box leaks like a seive, but other than that, a very successful sea test. Daughter crewing like a pro.

#HollyburnSailingClub Sunday racing. Eleven boats participated in mixed X class racing. I was in a #MirrorDinghy and we also had Lasers, an RS Vision, an RS 400, some 420s, a Fireball and a 29er out.

A few photos before the races started. Just as the first race started the wind came in from the southwest and gave us 9+ kts of wind.
