Happy #Minnestoa #FossilFriday 🦥These bison remains are part of a bone bed discovered east of Melrose, MN in April 1967 by Ivan Brouwer, a dragline operator working near a creek along Interstate 94, Ivan shared some of the bones with his friend Robert Freeman Sr. Rumor has it that Robert Sr. and his son planned to reconstruct a full skeleton from these bones.

The existence and whereabouts of this skeleton remain under investigation today!

I was thinking about what I said yesterday morning. It didn't happen in 1990; it was December of 1991 because my wife and I were married a year later in 1992. When I got to Tennessee, I stayed a couple of days, then had to fly to Houston, Texas to get my car that I shipped from Germany. So, I flew to Houston, picked up the car and drove back to Tennessee. If you don't know, it takes a long time to drive across Texas because it is huge. I think I overnighted twice along the way. Fortunately, it was winter because my car didn't have A/C. Back in Tennesse, I stayed a week or so before heading to my next assignment in Saint Paul, Minnesota where I picked up a new definition for cold.
