Because we don't have enough animals to look after, we now have 6 minnows and 2 Inca snails in our mini pond.

Still need to fill in the gap around the liner with sand then finish off the edge with rocks to make the pond look more finished. But all the aquatic plants are in, 4 mini lotus, a couple water hyacinths, some duckweed. Was time to get some mosquito control and dead plant matter control in there.

These little feeder minnows don't know it but they just won the minnow lottery when they got scooped up by a Petco employee this morning. Instead of being fed to a bigger fish, theyre getting their own little fishdom with over winter privileges in a tank inside the house. Lol

I really enjoy the pattern some #whiteclouds develop after a short time outside. I think in terms of doing the #minipond hobby, this species has much greater potential than #medaka.

Many of the traits you see in medaka comes from 300 years worth of development while #wcmm have only been explored as a #pondfish for maybe 10-15 years. But in terms of desired qualities, #tanichthys hits pretty much every single note unlike the many drawbacks of medaka.

Anyone doing miniponds should try them!
