#miniflux doesn’t allow you to subscribe to resources on the same local network by default. Clever. I’d never thought about that kind of attack vector.

Sigh. Why doesn't Miniflux like nginx. I used their suggested nginx config even.
Randomly 502s. Sigh. I guess I am going to learn....
Already am, to be fair. I have debug logs on for Miniflux and it is logging zero errors, and thinks it has responded just fine.

Miniflux says: May 10 08:30:34 rss miniflux[13383]: level=DEBUG msg="Incoming request" client_ip=192.168.1.190 request.method= GET request.uri=/history request.protocol=HTTP/1.0 request.execution_time=23.200117ms

And Nginx says: 2026/05/10 08:30:34 [error] 33626#33626: *1979 recv() failed (104: Connection reset by peer) while reading resp onse header from upstream, client: 192.168.1.1, server: example.tld, request: "GET /history HTTP/1.1", upstream: "http://192.168.1.198:8080/history", host: "example.tld"

webserver(nginx) lxc is on x.x.x.190 and Miniflux is on x.x.x.198 here, domain changed to protect the guilty. I keep piling stuff on the webserver container so thought I'd keep this separate. Hmm. Wondering if I should not have. It is random too, the response times Miniflux displays can be longer and it actually works fine. Then boom a bunch just don't.

Going straight to the IP:port it doesnt miss a beat ever, so this must be something to do with Nginx proxy_pass settings, surely. 🤔

I'm suffering from severe #RssAddiction 🙂
Currently l'm subscribed to 267 feeds.

On Android I'm using #spaRSS (rather outdated, but still functional), on the PC #Miniflux and #newsboat, for testing purposes.

Currently giving #Miniflux a try as possible replacement for feedbin. Don't get me wrong! Feedbin is great but it's time to move certain things to self-hosted solutions.
Huh, I found an #RSS feed that works in #MiniFlux and #FreshRSS, but doesn't seem to in self-hosted #newsblur 🤔

I'm trying to like #Miniflux but man, it's really not as nice as #Feedbin. Like, I really like the 3 column layout of Feedbin and I don't see how to replicate that with Miniflux. Do I need to shift my thinking?!

@megabyteghost

#Miniflux server that a friend hosts, combined with #Newsboat on the terminal and #CapyReader on Android.

Oh, and the web interface itself is great. Very basic/brutalistic and fast.

Client Challenge

@RareBird15 I use #Miniflux: https://miniflux.app. It's a web based fully accessible reader, it can be self-hosted, or you can pay $15 (14 euro) a year to use the instance the developer maintains, or you can use, for example, use some free Miniflux instance (Tweesecake used to have one but now it's not working for some reason). As for managing feeds, I categorize them. I also add podcasts because I don't like listening to podcasts in dedicated apps, I need my file that I post-process (increase speed, sometimes cut off intros-outros, sometimes raise volume).
