Stuck in my room and without Wifi, I played through Minecraft Legends the other day (which I had luckily downloaded the day before).
I finished the main story mode in just under 6 hours, and I was Impressed!
The art style is very unique, it keeps the Minecraft style but with a welcome twist.
Controls are very intuitive. I myself usually struggle with complex controls and mechanics but Legends keeps it simple and introduces them well.
The story is very good as well. After the initial few tasks you can basically do stuff in any order you like (until the final fights), which is really fun as you can leave a challenging task for later if you wish.
The replayability - man! Because the map is automatically randomly generated, every playthrough gives a new experience while still being kind of the same. I'm in the middle of playing through the second time and I'm still enjoying every moment!
The amount of content is really nice, too. Although I feel that after multiple playthroughs it would start getting repetitive as the story and tasks are the same each time, just with map generation and event randomness differences.
But going into the details... while the overall experience is really nice and polished, with UX being taken into account everywhere, I can't help but notice the inconsistencies, the errors. The amount of time I've read "vllage" or seen formatting errors in the map starts getting on my nerves.
The additions to the Minecraft lore fit in quite nicely. No spoilers, but Illagers get a nice origin story in this game.
Overall I'm disappointed to hear that they stopped development - there was so much potential in this beauty of a videogame.
I would highly recommend to anyone who likes Strategy games and has enjoyed Minecraft before.
