Mike Parker, who died earlier this month, was far from a celebrity. But in his six decades on the Left and in labor, he was everywhere, from the Berkeley Free Speech Movement to auto factory shop floors to independent leftist electoral campaigns and the rebirth of American socialism.

Longtime labor and radical activist #MikeParker has died.
I met him at Labor Notes and the political group Solidarity. A skilled autoworker for political and personal reasons (he enjoyed electronics), he was one of those 1960s radicals who thought revolution was at hand, only to spend most of his activist life doing the long hard work of sustaining a political vision and keeping it fresh, by writing, union organizing, and above all patient and intense conversations with young activists.
