Does anyone have any experience with migadu as an e-mail provider? Currently using Zoho for my main email but looking for an alternative for the family in Europe.

@ploum #Migadu has even lower quotas than #Galae (I abandoned Migadu years ago specifically because I ran into these limits when I tried to use my account for DeltaChat hosting).

Galae may be fine for your personal email requirements, you be the judge of that, but anyone who wishes to use it with #DeltaChat should be aware of the rather low outgoing quotas.

Thunderbird Pro's pricing on the official website is currently listed at $9: https://tb.pro/en-US/

That's way too much for what they're offering IMO. I'm also just interested in Thundermail and will probably never use Appointment or Send as they're not useful to me at all.

I'm comparing the price to the prices of Migadu, Mailbox.org and Posteo.de, all of which are *significantly* less expensive with a range of 1€-1.50€ per month for the base plans.

Add to all of this that Thunderbird is part of the US based Mozilla Foundation and, with the current situation there thanks to the orange fascist, I suspect Thunderbird Pro won't be popular at all after the early curiosity ends.

@chesheer I've tried lots of different services, and I'm still convinced by two of them: #Fastmail and #Migadu

The latter is very affordable if you use email moderately (i.e., for typical family use).

J'ai récemment découvert le service mail Migadu, et je suis enthousiaste et convaincu.
Du coup je l'utilise quotidiennement.
C'est une société Suisse, avec les serveurs situés en France, le tout bien compatible RGPD.

Ne convient qu'à celles et ceux qui ont un ou plusieurs noms de domaine.
Et leur site est tout en anglais, mais j'aime vraiment leur ligne de conduite.

@ac @ente @elementary That's a interesting tool, it lists many niche options also, like the convenient email provider Migadu 👌 I made one about me too, it was fun! As DNS I usually prefer OpenNIC but it's not listed, I will open a pull request as well

@mick @EricCarroll I’m sure #fastmail is fine. I use #migadu for email. Few frills, no AI bullshit, very reasonably priced. #porkbun, of course, are brilliant for domain names.
