36 Patches for Arturia's MicroFreak:
Made with firmware version 5.0.0.2084, but none of these particular patches make use of the new sampler/granular features, so they may work with older versions, I’m not sure. Released under the Anti-Capitalist Soundware License.
This thing is very fun to make sounds on. :)
I finally recorded an improvisation on the Microfreak and had some fun with a modest handful of modulations. I stuck to the one sound that I can roll around in for hours – lowpass-filtered supersaw pads. The keybed of the Microfreak takes some getting used to, but it's so much fun!
After dealing with #heart issues (#arrhythmia) recently, I translated that experience into a track.
Built on #Librazik with #Ardour using #SurgeXT, #Zebralette, a #Microfreak and a #Waldorf #Blofeld.
The ending features my own heartbeat, converted from #Garmin data into audio using a Python script.
After two surgeries, my heart has been beating normally again for three weeks now 🤞

After dealing with heart issues recently, I wanted to translate that experience into music. An irregular rhythm, unstable pulses, and a fragile flow inspired by arrhythmia.
I sure do love the #Arturia #Microfreak! Here's a playlist of my videos on it. One's an intro and overview. The other two go thru each synth engine and creates a new sound for every one of them!

After 4 days, I need to get back on the #synth horse or else this will end up on this year's pile of projects that I've abandoned before I even managed to one-eighth-ass them.
Maybe someone can tell me what kind of #MicroFreak patch I should try to make.
Or maybe there's a prompted challenge for synth patches? If now, I need one. The world needs one.
One effect that @etherdiver 's intro to FM synthesis has had on me was that it made me explore the FM engine on the #MicroFreak a bit. I've always considered that one of the weaker engines (2 operators, 1 algorithm plus rate, amount and feedback as simplified parameters), but Ether encouraged people to start with 2 operators, and the MicroFreak was sitting right there next to me, so I thought "why not?"
Always explore what you already have to the max.
