Brand-new cut-scenes were considered for Metroid Prime Remastered:
Cut scenes indeed

Finally played #RetroStudios' 3D #Metroidvania masterpiece for the first time since... probably around 2004.
Played it with the original control scheme. Still feels great. The aesthetic also holds up really well, and the increased resolution and fidelity made it even better.
The most noticeable flaw, aside from the unnecessary sequence-breaking prevention, was the often random-feeling item placement, compared to later games.
Rolled credits on Metroid Prime.
Definitely holds up, though the last 25% of the game drags a little bit.
Decent 3D platforming, great environmental design and music.
Maybe I should catch up to play Prime 4 🤔

The Meta Ridley boss fight in the Artifact Temple kinda sucks?
Big windows between his weak spot being vulnerable where you just have to dodge, not a lot of thought to it and a lot of waiting.

ugh, finally
🤬 phazon mines
Wandered back and got the gravity suit to advance past Heartbreak Point, got smashed by space pirates in the mines. Decent progress for today, especially considering the backtracking.
Speaking of backtracking, it's evil the way they repeatedly make you platform through a long thing, only to show you a locked door that you need to go all the way back to the start and manipulate several things along the way to unlock.
