#10 (2025-12-03) #MetroidPrime3Corruption

Finally made it to (and through) #MetroidPrime3! Just in time for MP4 arriving tomorrow!

It's... very much the weakest part of the trilogy. Not because of the kinda awkwardly forced motion control gimmicks, but due to other core design issues.

Progression-signaling is often poor, so you get NPCs telling you what to do to compensate. Hypermode is annoying; especially enemies in Hypermode. The scan visor is too finicky.

Still good, though.

Por lo que leo por ahí, parece que #RetroStudios ha profundizado en la casualización que ya se vio en #MetroidPrime3Corruption, un enfoque que huele a impuesto por una #Nintendo a la que los juegos difíciles y orientados a "adultos" le dan fobia desde el fracaso de #GameCube.

Viendo que en el fondo #MetroidPrime es una saga de nicho, lo que merecían los fans era la entrega más jodida de la saga, con un enfoque parecido al de #DonkeyKongCountry2.

Over halfway through #MetroidPrime3, one of the Aurora Units finds out that the Space Pirate homeworld has been hit by a Leviathan and concludes that the pirates must be enhancing their troops with Phazon.

I could have told them as much many hours ago, considering that the pirates (like almost all other enemies) have been taking Phazon-flavored Hypermode shots since the game started.

Playing #MetroidPrime3 for the first time since 2007, I did remember and recognize stuff like the Meta Ridley fight on Norion, and I think I have a fairly accurate mental image of Phaaze (I'll see later).

But having just finished the first Leviathan on Bryyo yesterday, I realized I didn't remember it or its boss fight at all.

Then I moved on to Elysia, and at least the zip-lines were what I remembered.

The Aurora Unit talks too much, though.

I gave Nintendo as much time as I was able, it’s time to finish the fight. By which I mean #MetroidPrime3Corruption. Have plenty of thoughts already.

People who were curious about whether Prime 4 would be more open (like Mario Odyssey, if not BotW) had good reasons to think so. No, Prime 3 is still a corridor after corridor after corridor, but it flirts with openness, so I can see it being like the first Halo (big open levels with almost dungeon-like sections). Doesn’t seem like it will happen.

It’s tempting to jump right into #MetroidPrime3Corruption, but I’d probably should figure out if playing with an actual Wii Remote is worth it. People say that the motion controls are excellent, but if I would play that way (I still have it and a USB Sensor Bar), I would be playing on a monitor at a desk. In the past, I found that having a distance was important; otherwise, it loses the cursor and panics all the time.

What’s your opinion if you played it? #FediAsks: #PrimeHack or #WiiRemote?
