I also tried to look up to see whether it would be reasonable to use an NaCl+Vinegar+Hydrogen Peroxide solution to create a rust patina (that I could then potentially seal somehow) on the 430 but unfortunately I can’t seem to find whether that would potentially be an issue. To be fair, it IS stainless steel so ideally a little rust won’t cause promote further oxidation like it might with a lower chromium steel… but what the fuck do I know 😂

Any cats out there have experience on induced patinas on this type of steel? I’m really just trying to personalise a stainless steel countertop and make it pretty. I like the “natural” processes that are induced in common environments and I think a torched or sprayed type rust pattern would be neat. But.
