Something we would really like to have at https://archaeo.social, but haven't been able to find the time for, is a bot that welcomes new users, gives them tips on how to populate their feed, encourages them to make an #introduction post, then automatically boosts it.
Otherwise unfortunately we see that, on a small instance like ours, most new users never get past that initial empty feed.
If anybody wants to take this on, it'd be much appreciated!

https://archaeo.social has defederated https://social.freysa.ai, which is flooding hashtags such as #Archaeology and #History with repetitive LLM-generated posts.
With this latest X migration wave, https://archaeo.social is getting a lot of generic registration requests that would make sense if directed to a general-purpose server (e.g. "I'm interested in XYZ") but don't make sense at all for a niche one like ours.
We generally decline these but I'm puzzled where they come from. Are they bots? Is there some app sending people to servers without telling them what they are? Just confused people?
