I'll be performing tonight in Fort Bragg, CA with old friends in a new trio: Kevin Corcoran and Chris Cooper. I have a new setup involving amplified bass clarinet, and Kevin has some sort of amplified percussion rig that I haven't heard. Chris is bringing his blasted & refracted guitar assemblage, and we will attempt to weave it all together into something new.

An outdoor show at the Larry Spring Museum of Common Sense Physics. Doors open at 5pm.

Chris and I continue north to Arcata tomorrow before returning to the Bay, where I have a few more dates this week.

🌊 A tsunami drill is set for the Mendocino Coast this Wednesday at 11 a.m.

Residents in coastal hazard zones are encouraged to walk to higher ground as part of the annual North Coast Tsunami Drill, which helps communities prepare for a major earthquake and tsunami.

Officials say practicing evacuation routes now can save lives in a real emergency.

Blueblossom: Ceanothus thyrsiflorus. I was drawn in by how impossibly tiny they are, and how they felt like the world's smallest origami. This entire cluster was smaller than my thumb.

These are apparently Cotoneaster, or just "red cluster berry".

🕯️ Nathaniel Smith, believed to be the first Black resident of Mendocino County, was once “known to every man, woman, and child on the coast.”

His 1906 funeral was one of the largest in Mendocino.

I'm not a fan of cooking, but I love a cookbook. Here's a review I wrote about a cookbook for @TheMendoVoice and I hope you enjoy it.
