What do we know today about the molecular mechanisms underlying the seven Mendel's pea loci? An interesting state of the art in the latest Plant Physiology issue. In brief, genes have been identified for 4/7 loci, whereas candidate genes need further investigation for the 3 others.

Mendel's greenhouse, destroyed by the tornado of 1870, has been rebuilt under our cross-border #INTERREG program. Today, the leading partner of the project -- the #MendelMuseum under #MasarykUniversity #MUNI -- will officially open the greenhouse to the public.
