We've known for a while that the Bexsero brand #meningitis B vaccine provides limited (30-40%) protection against #gonorrhea, too. Now the UK has approved the #vaccine to be used against the #STI, offering it to men who have sex with men.

A lot of people I know don’t seem to have heard this, but the #MenB vaccine shows ~40% efficacy against #gonorrhoea and is well worth a shot (ba-dum-tish) if you are gay/bi/msm man on #PrEP ± #doxyPEP. JCVI recommended it back in 2023 but Tories and now Shit-wipe Streeting of the Red Fascists have sat on their hands as with doxyPEP. In UK, Boots offer MenB for ~£100

The Standing Committee on #Vaccination (#STIKO) at the @RKI has published its updated #immunization schedule. Key changes include 1) the switch from the 23-valent polysaccharide to the 20-valent conjugate vaccine for prevention of pneumococcal infections in the elderly and 2) the universal recommendation for the vaccination of infants against serogroup B meningococci (#menB).
