I am finishing up some started #kdramas but decided to start #MeloMovie because it was on my list of recommended watches. I fear I have mixed up some lists because it also does not feel light and fluffy so far. But it does look good, so I will continue it. Just slowly.

I fear I need a better system for tracking recs than just jotting them down in the back of my notebook though. 🤦‍♀️

[!!CW!! Synopsis & non-spoilery review.]

The title says *melodrama* - lots of emotion & minimal time on char. dev. In 10 eps, these fabulous A-list actors deliver. The cinematography is gorgeous & the OST suits a melodrama. [Note: eps titles are movie quotes]

ML, whose only interest has been movies, becomes interested in FL on a movie set where they are working. Their story takes a twisty path (Melo!) while the 2nd couple grapples with their own troubles. We also get a familial love story.

There are beautifully quotable lines: ["That’s the thing about the pain of a loss. At first, there’s so much going on that it doesn’t hit you. But when you need that person so desperately & you realize they can’t be there with you, that’s when the pain really sets in."]

Expect a melodrama & you won't be disappointed.

@whoosh and I had a lot of fun with this yesterday. I also love the set that is their guesthouse as well as the lovely countryside. I hope that I get to see a show crew in action somewhere along my travels! #MeloMovie gave a view into the logistics of transporting everyone across the country to shoot these scenes.

I'm noticing wonderful small details like that.

I'm sad that this is a Netflix original because the music is so important & Netflix doesn't translate the song lyrics or even caption them like Viki does.

Its take on a melodrama that's about producing a melodrama - named "Melody" is fantastic. Love how they are playing with the genre.

Speaking of drama actor quests....

"Melo Movie" is a great drama for me to accomplish multiple quests.

From the "Melo Movie" cast I'm currently on quests for:

-- Choi Woo Shik (Parasite fame, friend of Park Hyung Sik)
-- Park Bo Young (Strong Woman & so many more, co-star of Park Hyung Sik)
-- Lee Jun Young (It seems like he's getting more serious working with well-knows actors in this & his next project)
-- Kim Jae Wook ("Her Private Life" & "Crazy Love" so far)

I think I may add these actors to my quests
-- Jeon So Nee (starred opposite Park Hyung Sik in "Our Blooming Youth")
-- Cha Woo Min (This is the 1st I've seen him, but he'll be in "Buried Hearts" later this month with Park Hyung Sik)

PS: Park Hyung Sik was one of my early quests.

Looks like #MeloMovie isn't waiting around for that stuff. Tension is what makes the story so I'll keep watching. Also, there's only one #kdrama I've watched where one of the leads didn't make it to the final episode.
