So I actually watched both movies #AnotherEarth and #Melancholia (found old tweets as evidence 😆). Somehow I remembered the former much better. Was ruminating over them this past week when I came across the #EveryoneDies audiobook - planning to listen to it on the long flight to Shanghai. Yeah, one of those moods..

Ever since discovering M83's album Hurry Up, We're Dreaming, I have been a huge fan of the album (notice the name of this instance?). Outro is one of my favorite songs on the album. This video marrying the song Outro with the imagery from Lars von Trier's Melancholia is very well done. I am not a fan of Melancholia outside of its other worldly imagery and the not-very-scientifically-correct planet collision.

"Est-ce que vous aimez les maths?"
Moi, j'aime bien, un peu, je crois. Mais je dois avouer que là les mathématiques du drama me sont passées par dessus, et ce n'était pas grave, car le but était probablement plus de faire une ode à la passion de résoudre et de voir la beauté du monde à travers les mathématiques. Et la romance du drama se fond complètement dans ce prisme. Le langage des emotions empruntant celui des maths.
A cela s'ajoute une lutte des protagonistes contre la corruption, et les privilèges dans le milieu scolaire avec un scénario assez bien mené malgré des défauts.

J'ai bien compris que c'était en partie une ode aux mathématiques, mais même avec mon petit bagage scientifique, ça reste assez cryptique.

Among the photos I found this one. The sea seemed dangerous and melancholic at the same time, probably because it was under a cloud and the wind was blowing. And this shade of the sea... Still, people were walking and looking into the distance.

I wonder if the sky over the Baltic Sea is often cloudy?
