First of all, let me say that I don't understand all the hate this movie has received. Maybe U.S. audiences didn't like the -sometimes a bit too obvious- references to their current state of affairs? There's a January 6th-like insurrection sequence and Jon Voight is surely a Trump analogue. Aubrey Plaza steals the movie, as does Nathalie Emmanuel. Adam Driver's performance is strangely wooden, but maybe that's intentional or more likely he's the new Keanu.. It's visually stunning at times but not as much as it could have been with today's technology (some CG effects look weirdly dated). On the

Without any knowledge beforehand, I would have thought #Megalopolis was made by Alejandro Jodorowsky. And I don't say this as a compliment.

No, but seriously, there could be an interesting movie somewhere in there, but it tries to do so much at the same time, trying to manage so many different, interwoven plot lines, while trying to be a metaphor for capitalism, a political thriller, a scifi utopia, a critique of modern architecture and the media, and so many other things.
