Rep. Alexandria Ocasio‑Cortez was photographed confronting Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. after his congressional testimony, but the exchange centered on Medicare Advantage rather than vaccines or psychedelics. Ocasio‑Cortez’s office said she was pressing Kennedy about systemic fraud in the Medicare Advantage program, warning that private insurers are overcharging taxpayers, upcoding diagnoses, lowering reimbursements and increasing claim denials while profiting from the Medicare brand. She highlighted that the government expects to spend an additional $13 billion on the program in fiscal year 2027—far above projections—and urged an end to the “giant” insurers’ exploitation of the system.

Medicare Advantage denies care then overturns 80% of those denials on appeal. Democrats just introduced a bill to end it. Prior authorization is a scam. 💊 Time to stop it.

UnitedHealth Group reported first‑quarter results that beat Wall Street expectations, posting revenue of $111.72 billion (versus $109.57 billion forecast) and adjusted earnings of $7.23 per share (vs. $6.57 expected). The company also raised its 2026 adjusted‑earnings outlook to more than $18.25 per share from the prior $17.75‑plus target while maintaining its full‑year revenue guidance of over $439 billion. A key highlight was the improvement in its medical benefit ratio to 83.9%—down from 84.8% a year earlier and better than the 85.5% analysts had projected—indicating more effective control of medical‑cost spending. UnitedHealth’s net income was $6.28 billion, and its turnaround plan under a new leadership team focuses on shrinking membership, selling the UK arm of its Optum unit, heavy investment in artificial‑intelligence tools, streamlining care access, and boosting transparency to restore profitability and reputation.

Medicare Advantage = BAD.

Medicare Advantage is private, FOR-PROFIT insurance that overcharges American taxpayers by billions every year and regularly denies seniors the care they need.

...so course, Trump is trying to privatize ALL Medicare.

Dear Senator/Representative -

President Trump’s Medicare director said last week that his team is considering a policy that would automatically enroll Medicare beneficiaries into Medicare Advantage plans, an idea first rolled out in the Project 2025 roadmap of this Republican Administration.

I want you to push back hard on this idea and fight it with every bureaucratic tool at your disposal.

Medicate Advantage costs us taxpayers 14% more than if those same people were enrolled in traditional Medicare, according to the Medicare Payment Advisory Committee.

Yes, you're reading that correctly -- Medicare itself is telling you that Medicare Advantage costs more. This extra $76 billion of my tax dollars gets paid to for-profit health insurance companies. Study after study has shown that Medicare Advantage, while costing more, does not lead to better outcomes for patients. All Medicare Advantage does is put the money I am paying in taxes into the pockets of health insurance shareholders and CEOs.

Right now, Americans have a choice between Traditional Medicare and corporate, profit-driven Medicare Advantage.

Medicare Advantage costs more and it doesn't result in better patient outcomes. It should be cancelled completely, not made the default enrollment.

Fight this.
