Been a while since I did any #medicaleducation shitposting.
Tonight’s beer talk: Epi and cardiac arrest.
Epinephrine (adrenaline) is often used during cardiac arrest. Why? Well, it makes heart muscle more exciteable, which is great if you want sleepy muscle to become super zombie muscle while you resuscitate someone. It also makes the heart squeeze harder, and it shrinks peripheral blood vessels (makes the tank smaller so more blood can make it to the brain and kidneys).
