Anoche estuvimos como espectadores en una charla de #Mediajustice sobre los #CentrosdeDatos del Sur de EEUU.

La mayoría de hiperescala se están situando en comunidades del país. Zonas de sacrificio de nuevo.

Estos proyectos (Blue, Jupiter y Matador) Afectarán a las comunidades de Tucson, Amarillo y Doña Ana. Es decir, poblaciones empobrecidas, negras y latinas, desérticas y ya elegidas como zona de sacrificio.

Los elementos comunes se repiten: enormes consumos de agua y energía, promesas falsas de empleo, comunidades vulnerables, sindicatos apoyando a las Big Tech, falta de transparencia, greenwashing y participaciónwashing...

Al final de la charla le preguntaron a les ponentes porqué habían decidido luchar.

Creo que esa pregunta, a veces, es incorrecta. Porque hay gente que no puede elegir no luchar. Están perdiendo sus terrenos, su salud, el derecho al agua... No les queda otro remedio cuando esas corporaciones aparecen en tus comunidades.

Una de las ponentes dijo: yo he nacido aquí, en el desierto... y simplemente se puso a llorar.
