Ran across another one for this week's #TuneTuesday, #TheBubble, as I was listening through Forbidden Places today. This one really transports me. Had its title as a screen name for a VERY long time years ago. The amazing guitar work, the weird lyrics, all of it 😍

Meat Puppets - Too High to Die
I think I fell off the Meat Puppets train too early at the time (namely, after the shambolic 1st album): too much other music around to bother.
Clearly a mistake, since II was actually great. And this, probably their best... certainly wouldn't have expected, after the first, that they'd go *here*.
These days, bored hardcore bands go emo and then shoegaze. Then...alt-psych-country!

Yet again listening to one of the greatest albums ever recorded to get my morning going

Not the first time or the last that I bought an album on the strength of a single song, but one of the ones I've least regretted because every single track has that certain je ne sais quoi.
Here's the single in question: "Backwater" by the Meat Puppets, off Too High to Die.
