Donald Trump’s former corporate controller has teared up while testifying that he “gave up” on his longtime job because he was worn out by the company’s legal woes. Jeffrey McConney testified Tuesday for a fourth day in six weeks at the ex-president’s civil fraud trial. Asked why he no longer works at the Trump Organization, McConney became emotional and said he wanted to, in his words, “relax and stop being accused of misrepresenting assets” for a company where he loved working. McConney is among defendants in the trial. New York Attorney General Letitia James alleges that Trump and executives at his company fraudulently inflated his wealth on financial statements, which were used to secure loans and insurance. The defendants deny wrongdoing.

NYAG: “Did you ever tell Mr. #McConney about the Cushman valuation?"
Eric: "I would have never have thought to.”
(Hold the phone, I thought Eric claimed he didn’t even know the Cushman appraiser)
NYAG then showed a notation on a spreadsheet of data supporting a #SFC:
"11/17/2015- Per telephone conversation w/Eric Trump - leave value as is"
Eric says he has no reason to doubt the conversation occurred.
#NYAG next played the section from the #EricTrump video deposition when the interviewer asked, “Do you have any reason to believe Mr. #McConney would reference a conversation w/you if it didn't happen?”
To which Eric (in the video) replied: "I know nothing about the statement of financial of condition. I don't know anything about the backup (of the SFC). It's just not what I did.… I was responsible for building properties & pouring concrete.”
