Another resident, "I was invited to a meeting with “our new friends,” the developers, last month. The County Judge, Economic Development Director and EKP officials were also in attendance. I was asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement, to which I refused. I was immediately surprised that the data center representatives would not even supply their last names. I was assured that I should trust them, even though I didn’t know who they were or who they represented."

🚨Jerry Lee Cooper, who was captured on security cameras shooting a man in the chest through the window of the victim's Aberdeen, Ohio, (Brown County, Ohio rural #Cincinnati) home in February 2025, escapes jail. (Victim survived) He's from Dover, #Kentucky ( #Maysville )

On September 15, 2025, between the hours of 10:30 PM and 11:30 PM two inmates escaped the Brown County Adult Detention Center. Inmate Jerry Lee Cooper (DOB 03/24/1977 charged with attempted murder, felonious assault, and having weapons under disability), and inmate Roy Gene Butler (DOB 05/05/1974 charged with Trafficking in drugs and having weapons under disability).

The inmates escaped the adult detention center by damaging a security window allowing access to flee through in sheriff's office impound lot. A search of the area is currently under way involving multiple law enforcement agencies, aviation, and canine units.

‘The Brown County Sheriff's Office will be filing escape charges on both subjects. If located please do not approach and contact local law enforcement immediately. Anyone with information concerning the possible location of Jerry Lee Cooper and Roy Gene Butler is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Charles Ernst at (937)378-4435 extension 126.
