I didn’t dance. I watched.
I drank gin. I chewed gum.
I thought about love.

Because of my knee replacement surgery on May 5, I missed the full glory and decay of the peonies; I wasn't able to make my usual pilgrimage to the neighborhoods cloisters and garths where their blooms spill out in early May here in Kentucky.
