As much as Radigue’s music informed the Sinewives patch, the other key bit of inspiration was the interstitial drones that preceeded Autechre’s live sets I saw, and learning @sean_ae originally made that particular patch to sleep to. The other album I’m releasing is Hrih - two drone pieces that were made with my newish Max/MSP patch ‘Sinewives’.

I started building this device based on some rough thoughts for a process/device I’d had for a long time inspired by the music of Éliane Radigue. In fact, I was listening to some tweaks that I had just made to the patch when I saw that she had passed.

A test with random numbers, I also discovered that by manipulating the sliders, there was plenty of fun to be had. I really like the way it works and I have lots of ideas that deserve some thought. It's cool.

I keep thinking that I should set a goal to make a T-1 replacement in Max - tactile interface aside, I could see very easily how I could fix some of the limitations I find myself hitting with it. It would be funny to control a T-1 replacement patch with the T-1 itself, wouldn’t it?

Solarystyka 1.0. 4-voice poly~ sampler. With full randomisation on file drop, per voice and master state variable filters, pan, saturation, pitch drift and windowing. User definable window divisions. Let me know if you want to test it. Nothing revolutionary but pretty proud of it nonetheless. 2.0 is planned to implement interesting window modulations (spring physics and chaos attractors/Lorenz).
