Maturin makes rust in python accessible to a degree where it's not even a challenge anymore. Which is good, I suppose; but still :/

Gah. TIL that compiling #Rust/ #Maturin for a Linux distro with an older glib is a royal PITA. Fedora 43 laptop building, AWS Linux EC2 running.

Half tempted to just make the first steps of this EC2 experiment when I trigger to install rust and Maturin, and build it there.

Bad news: I accidentally broke creating sdists with maturin
Good news: It wasn't entirely my fault and I figured out a fix

It was partially caused by a bug in the CPython `tarfile` module!
