Deep Listening Day #86 — Matthew Sweet: Girlfriend (1991). in a more just world the album would have been a bestseller and the single would have spent some time at No. 1, but alas it was not to be. to my ears, this still sounds great. it certainly doesn't hurt that Richard Lloyd or Robert Quine play lead guitar on most of these songs.
