La película está basada en la novela de #MatsStrandberg, un reconocido autor sueco de terror y novelas juveniles (conocido por la trilogía «El Círculo»), que también ha colaborado en el guion.

Pidin tästä kirjasta hyvin paljon. Sitä oli miellyttävä lukea, vaikka henkilöhahmoja ja kertojaääniä oli monta. Pidin erilaisista päähahmoista, joissa oli pääasiassa mukavasti inhimillistä tarttumapintaa, vaikka edustivatkin jopa kliseisen tyypillisiä arkkityyppejä. Tämän kirjan antagonisti ei ollut yllätys, mutta muita yllättäviäkin juonenkäänteitä oli seassa.
Aion lukea seuraavankin osan ja suosittelen muillekin, joita kiinnostaa magialla höystetty nuortenkirja lukioikäisistä teineistä pikkukaupungissa.

Hooptober X: 19/32 - Country: SWEDEN Happy Friday the 13th, everybody! THANK GOD it was good. I storyboarded this and had no idea what the end product would be as I had only read the script for the scenes with violence and effects that I worked on. But I shouldn't have worried, Mats Strandberg's book is beloved, director Patrik Eklund is a genius (seriously, check his films out if you haven't, the guy got an Oscar nomination and it wasn't even for his best film) and the makeup effects are done by 3 time Oscar nominees Love Larson and Eva
