This #Mathematics article came across my feed, about how #Maths #teachers teach #Math - https://teamone.msuurbanstem.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Skemp-Relational-Instrumental-clean-copy-AT-1978.pdf - where it is quite clear that the author didn't bother asking any actual teachers about it(!), and the assumption made is completely wrong (could've saved himself all that effort if he'd just checked his #facts first #misinformation). First I'm going to address some of the wrong claims, then I will go through the actual reasons, which we DO actually teach...
