Still getting the hang of things, but my biggest beef with #Mastodon is that I can't merge my instances into one large timeline. Very strange when it comes to followers and content. I've had to follow the same people on multiple accounts now, so I don't even know who will end up seeing posts. The need to sign up with a new account and email address on every server is such a pain in the ass. Oh, and no computer access for some reason.

@elizkolbert hashtags are everything here! I have to put them in a “toot” to be able to search for them. Favoriting doesn’t help promoting posts to others: you have to boost (the “retweet” icon). #mastodonnewb
