Als 1337 Linux expert kon ik de downtime terugdringen van het voorziene uur naar net iets meer dan 10 minuten 😎

Mastodon Belgium and Mastodon Vlaanderen were just upgraded to the latest v4.4.4 version of Mastodon !

*** MAINTENANCE COMPLETE ***
Mastodon Belgium & Vlaanderen are now fully upgraded: backend servers patched and frontend servers rocking Mastodon v4.4.1 !
The DB server is still crunching through the database and might attempt to strangle me later, but all in all the upgrade went really well !
The goal was one hour but mediastorage took quite a while to check its filesystems.
And compiling Ruby etc took its time as well.
But WE'RE HERE !
As you might have read: Mastodon v4.4.0 has been released !
This is a new major release with a big changelog and hefty upgrade process, so we'll wait a bit before upgrading, contrary to previous v4.3.x upgrade patches.
When we upgrade to v4.4.0 we'll also upgrade the backend servers and that will cause a longer downtime.
Our test server is already running the new v4.4.0 code so we'll see how that one runs.

For those who are still following (and might have noticed a brief hickup in service): Mastodon Belgium and Mastodon Vlaanderen are now running the latest v4.3.9 code !
Mastodon v4.4 is around the corner, very excited for that final release !
