I asked Mastodon to generate some hashtags for a social media post. Rather than publish an academic paper about it, I thought I'd share here.

What surprised me (maybe it shouldn't?) was how specific the hashtags were. Instead of #Mastodon, I got #MastodonAllure. Instead of #Community I got #CommunityConversations.

It took chatGPT a couple minutes to produce these recommendations, making my 38,000 posts a bit of a daunting task for it.
