My thinking is, that especially with #Covid (still) being an issue these days, you never know when someone might get knocked out from doing their admin duties for weeks at a time-- or even (God forbid) pass away.

I think it's important to emphasize to anyone looking to #admin an #instance that they consider taking on a partner OR have arrangements made with someone in their lives to notify users of any disability, severe sickness, or death.

People are relying on your services, paid or not, and it's important to inform them of major changes, whenever possible.

Having it in a Will/ #Estate is great (and I would think necessary, if you want your instance to outlive you), but that might not get read for weeks after death, or at all if you're unconscious somewhere. TELLING someone HOW to inform users or take over admin duties would seem more urgently helpful.

@nirak I've been trying to get my Mastodon instance setup for a few days now (been working on it between other projects) and today I got as far as the mastodon error page.

At this point I'm not sure if the problem is my config file, postgresql setup, or something else.

Tomorrow I'm going to delete the postgresql cluster and rebuild it.

If anyone has a good, working mastodon config file to share, please do.
