What do you guys use for a browser-based map service? On the phone I'm off Google Maps in favor of CoMaps, but that's mobile only (AFAIK?) & WeGo, which worked in a browser, doesn't anymore...
I know OSM obvi, but that's too nerdy & bare-bones in terms of UX & almost none of my local anythings are on there - if I have to add my locations before I can navigate that defeats most of the purpose 😝
Hey #gearstodon / #guitar #mastobrain: What's your favorite transparent overdrive pedal...?
That new amp of mine turns out to be an absolutely awesome pedal platform, meaning I can start to explore this issue, really for the first time in my guitarist life 😁
It's evening, I drink tea as I'm lounging exhausted on the sofa with my laptop.
What music should I listen to?
Returning to this. Absurd stubbornness means that I can now play the first solo of "Wish you were here" acceptably. Does anyone know of a good lesson for the second one? I know it has the challenge of being orginially played on of them pedal-steel-thingies, but still ...
Ignoramus-question here: Where can I read about how Mastodon is owned?
Are "how" and "owned" even the right words?
I've got a handful of email addresses -- some on gmail, some on my own web domain -- and I need a desktop app that not only they can be forwarded to, but which also deletes them on the gmail and webhost servers once deleted on the desktop.
Suggestions? Free and opensource preferred.
So, guitar peeps 🎸 I am thinking it's time to add a Strat to my arsenal - however, as John Nathan Cordy pointed out in a recent video, Fender has some 150 active models 🤯 & that's before we start in on all the non-Fender S-types 🤯🤯 & the 2nd hand market 🤯🤯🤯
I know it will be up to me & my taste etc., but hit me with your best tips 😊 budget considerations very much appreciated, too 😁
So, #mastobrain, to get me rolling: If I would like to try out a couple of different #Linux'es (you're never getting me to use that D word), do I need to buy a bunch of USB sticks to put each one on?
- or can I just partition a 1TB harddrive I already have & boot a different version from each partition...?
- or just keep a bunch of disk images on it & boot from them?
