Stone Curlew in the headlights - check out those giant eyes! 👀 caught this fella by surprise on our way home the other night, first sighting we had in our area ever! I whipped out my phone and took a couple of shots - not the greatest quality, but I’m chuffed that I managed to get a pic 🤠

Pretty patchy #weather here lately, small clusters of #rain draping the #MaryRiverValley with their #misty trails, leaving #rainbows and sometimes #DoubleRainbows #glowing in the #SettingSun - truly #TheGreatGigInTheSky

Heard a noise on the deck and went to investigate - turns out our resident tree snake Ernest had gotten caught in a rat trap! It was not happy, but we managed to free it and it slithered away seemingly unharmed. Would've hated to injure our natural pest control with a pest control device!
