It's not complicated but the Marugame Uchiwa Museum has a very specific process & will NOT let you half-ass it. If you screw it up, they'll stop until it's fixed. They really care about details.

And their director has a voice that rivals even mine. She's 4'11" & when she instructs groups, she projects her speech unlike anyone I've seen in a while & you will pay attention to her.

Headed to Marugame, home of Udon & Japanese fan-manufacturing. It has 100,000 citizens.

Uh, I've just been informed that the Marugame Udon chain isn't from Kagawa. The owner's from Hyogo but his father was from Marugame where he saw long lines for Udon so he named his business after Marugame.

Oh no. I thought we'd be eating Udon but instead I'm told I'm going to be... making a Japanese fan?

I am terrified. 😬
